The
Board of Trustees is a governing body composed of trustworthy, highly
experienced, and professionally qualified individuals who are dedicated to
serving the university with honesty, integrity, and commitment. Its primary responsibilities
include establishing policies and making major strategic decisions. It provides
overall leadership and direction to ensure that the university successfully
achieves its mission, vision, and long-term objectives. In addition, the Board
works to promote transparency, strengthen accountability, and enhance effective
institutional performance in all areas of the university.
Tabesh
University has received approval for its Board of Trustees based on Decision
No. (5), dated 25/3/2025, and Decree No. (12389), dated 22/4/2025, issued by
the Ministry of Higher Education. The Board consists of five members and is
chaired by the university’s founder, Dr. Khair Mohammad Momand. It normally
holds four regular meetings each year and may also convene extraordinary
meetings whenever necessary.
According to Article (14) of the
Regulation on Private Universities, the establishment and appointment of the
Board of Trustees are defined as follows:
1.
In line with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education,
the Board of Trustees is established to coordinate the university’s teaching,
research, and overall academic affairs more effectively.
2.
The Board of Trustees is the highest decision-making body of
the university. Based on the Law on Higher Education and other related legal
documents, it makes final decisions on policies, organizational structures,
budgeting, and major issues.
3.
The university is required to establish the Board of
Trustees according to its approved charter so that the university’s affairs can
be properly organized and leadership remains effective.
4.
Board members must meet minimum requirements, including a
bachelor’s degree, relevant knowledge and experience, a good reputation, and an
appropriate work history. After being proposed by the university, their names
are submitted for final approval through the relevant process, including
confirmation by the competent authorities.
5.
The founder introduces members by signing an agreement, and
after the Ministry of Higher Education grants approval, their duties begin.
Duties and Responsibilities of the
Board of Trustees:
Under Article (15) of the By-Laws
for Private Universities, the Board of Trustees has the following duties and
authorities:
1.
Develop
internal strategies and policies for the university’s growth and development.
2.
Determine
the university’s chancellor and vice chancellors, and propose them to the
Ministry of Higher Education.
3.
Conduct
internal oversight of the university’s activities.
4.
Provide
final supervision over the university’s financial and legal matters.
5.
Resolve
issues and concerns related to university stakeholders.
6.
Monitor
the enforcement of laws, regulations, relevant directives, and disciplinary
cases within the university, and follow up on such matters.
